Pryden · Understanding Fats

Look beyond the front of the pack

When comparing two similar products, start with the nutrition information per 100 g. Look at both total fat and saturated fat, then consider the amount you normally use. An oil, a spread and a handful of nuts play different roles in a meal, so a single number does not tell the whole story. Read the label alongside the ingredients and the way you plan to eat the food.
